Bruce McBratney develops executives into the leaders they want to become, and that their organizations need them to be. He helps clients develop critical leadership behaviors as well as helps recently promoted leaders understand the expectations of their new roles, and reduce the time it takes to become fully effective.

His clients include executives at several global pharmaceutical companies, one of the few global players in industrial distribution, a leading global advertising agency, and one of the largest retailers in the US. Bruce’s contributions to thought leadership in the field include co-authorship of “How Leaders of Multi-business Groups Can Add Value,” published in Strategy & Leadership.

Throughout his career, Bruce has helped executive teams become more effective, including the design and facilitation of leadership team off-sites, collaborating with CEOs and Business Unit Presidents to strengthen team alignment, fostering productive conversation, and commitment to the strategy.

Some of Bruce’s clients include: Amita Health, Tate & Lyle, Kellogg School of Management, Scholle IPN, Kraft, SRAM, and SAP.

Bruce teaches globally as an adjunct faculty with Duke Corporate Education for the past 11 years. He has consistently received high marks as an educator, orchestrator, and consultant to more than 15 Duke CE clients, teaching and orchestrating in more than 32 distinct programs, delivered in North and South America, Asia, and Europe. He finds that this frequent collaboration with other program faculty, leading thinkers in leadership and strategy, enhances the value he can bring to his coaching clients.

Bruce was the Vice President for Management & Organization Development at RR Donnelley, one of the world’s largest printing and media services companies. Responsibilities included succession planning, executive search, management development, sales training, performance management, and executive team effectiveness. He worked closely with three executive teams, facilitating their work in developing strategy, rationalizing corporate initiatives, and building the cases well as the plan, for introducing six sigma.

Prior to that, as a Director of Amoco Corporation’s 60-person internal consulting firm, he led a team of consultants and developed and delivered high-impact organization effectiveness consulting projects ranging from business process redesign to leadership team alignment and coaching.

Bruce is currently based in Chicago, Illinois.
