Business Experience
Prior to his career as an Ariel coach, Joel studied computer science at MIT. This academic background led to his establishing a software company, whose primary initial focus was the creation and development of interactive financial systems—specifically mortgage-backed security and options trading platforms—for a number of Wall Street’s largest institutions.
Theater experience
Joel has extensive theatrical bona fides as well, having directed and performed in professional theater productions across North America. His work has taken him to renowned venues such as La MaMa in New York City, Highways in Los Angeles, and Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts. These diverse experiences have provided Joel with valuable insights into the skills actors use to connect with and inspire their audiences, as well as specific techniques for improving communication and confidence through working with the body, voice, breath, intention, energy, and improvisation.
