Teaching in a Virtual Classroom

Video Poster

Course description

In the absence of face-to-face and in-person interactions, those who teach in a virtual classroom setting must leverage new strategies for developing an environment that is conducive to participation, sharing of ideas, and effective collaboration. To do this, teachers need to be able to communicate in a way that builds trust, provides support, and facilitates interactions for students that are inclusive, focused, and productive. In this virtual program, teachers will learn new behaviors and approaches to help them succeed.

What participants will learn

Through diverse content, reflection, and activities, teachers will learn the fundamentals of presence in a virtual setting—including how to engage, support, and include their students in a remote classroom.

The benefit of taking this course

Participants will learn to engage virtual student audiences more effectively, develop stronger and more intentional physical and vocal presence for class presentations, make more authentic, trusting connections with remote students, deliver more engaging virtual presentations, and facilitate more successful student interactions.
