Belle Linda Halpern
The Boston Globe calls her "stunning both as music and theater."
The Boston Herald says she's "Boston's best singing actress."
And the Boston Phoenix describes her as "…an extraordinary,
sensual singer." Belle Linda Halpern has performed as a cabaret
singer and actor at clubs and theaters in New York, including New
York's Cabaret Convention, The Cabaret Symposium, The Ballroom,
Town Hall, Eighty Eights and Don't Tell Mama's, as well as in Boston,
San Francisco, Paris, Munich, Jerusalem and Bombay. Each summer
she sings cabaret concerts in the villas and castles of Northern
Italy. A graduate of Harvard/Radcliffe, she performs in French and
Italian as well as Yiddish and Hebrew. Her theater roles include
Esther in Elizabeth Swados' rock opera Esther, Alice in Alice in
Concert, Kate in Kiss Me Kate and Sally in Cabaret. Other theatre
credits include work with Robert Wilson and Andrew Serban at the
American Repertory Theatre. She has co-created Moon Over Dark Street,
a Brecht/Weill Cabaret with Pilgrim Theatre, and Cutting Crosstown:
From 2nd Avenue to Broadway with fellow performer (and Ariel Group facilitator) Jeffrey Korn.
In addition to her club and stage work, Halpern regularly performs
her one-woman shows for major corporations and private functions
across the country. She teaches workshops in cabaret singing at
Harvard University and the Tuscany Project. She thanks her original
cabaret inspiration, Martha Schlamme, for her generous spirit, and
Mitch, Aviva and Lev for the joy they bring.
